Baseball In October!!!

Every year when August rolls around it usually means two things for me. First is the Texas Rangers have come unglued and are already so far behind there is no way they are making it to the playoffs. Which means baseball season is over for me. The second thing is that its football season and its time to focus all my energy on my Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks!

There is a strange new feeling in the air this year however. The Rangers are in the playoffs!!! Let me say that again. The Rangers are in the playoffs!!!

This is not a misprint! I haven't lost my mind! I am drug free and wide awake!

I know! I know! Its hard to believe but its true. The theme for the Rangers this year was "IT'S TIME" and it sure is. They are haveing fun, playing lights out baseball and I love it. A lot of people talk about how tought it was to be a Red Sox fan because of the curse or how hard it is to be a Cubs fan because they haven't won a world series since forever. Well let me tell you something the Rangers have never won a World Series and playoff apperances have been almost non-existant. SO IT'S HARD TO BE A RANGERS FAN!  Needless to say I am very excited we are in the American Leauge Divisional Series and we are 2 games up after winning in Tampa yesterday and today. Now they have to come to our house and its not going to be easy for them.

I guess what I am trying to say with all of this is...
As much as I love football I am not ready to let baseball go yet this year. Normally I expect to be let down once again by the Rangers but this year is different. If they lose now I will be heart broken because I have been a fan my whole life and I truly believe "IT"S TIME".

GO RANGERS!!!

Weekend of Depression!

Thank you so much for all yours prayers and thoughts during this tough and trying time. This had to be the most depressing and disturbing weekend I have had in a long long time. I paced around the house wondering what to do with my life in this horriable darkness of depression.

I would like to thank my family and friends for their undying love and support during this horrific and disturbing event that took place this weekend. If it weren't for my kids I wouldn't know what to do.

I can only hope and pray that nothing like this will ever happen again! I mean what was I suppose to do. It left me empty and needy. All I could do was sit in my chair and try to hold my tears back. A man, a father, or any human being should never have to face anything of this magnitude in their life!

Thank the Good Lord my Razorbacks and Cowboys will be playing next weekend!!!

I HATE BYE WEEKS!!!!

The Move!

I was going to write about Deadbeat Dads tonight but I have changed my mind and decided to talk about the move. Our new house is almost completed and we are so excited about moving. Well I am excited about the move but not the actual moving. Hopefully this will be the last move for a long while. We really love the neighborhood and the boys love all the kids their age that live around us. So far Dallas's new school has been wonderful and it has exceeded our expectations.

Status: The sprinkler system and sod have been laid. The painters have been there all week and seem to be done except for a little trim. Looks like next week will be all the finishing touches and hopefully the fence will follow shortly. I really hope the granite is delivered next week because Lindsey is driving me CRAZY! She is like a little girl getting a new toy. I guess I was that way about the sprinklers.

Ok I want to leave you with a few rules for the new house. I think this is so funny because before somebody gets something new they always come up with new rules whether it's a car or a house or even new appliances or electronic equipment (like the remotes will always go back on the tv stand when their not in use so we can always find them). Of course less than half of these ever stick. Lets see how these hold up.

Rules:
1. The laundry room will always be picked up because we have to walk through it when we come in from the garage
2. We have an open floor plan so junk will not be stacked up on kitchen counters on kitchen table.
3. We will never have dirty dishes in the sink.
4. We have a playroom so all toys will stay in the playroom.
5. The boys will not be allowed to climb on the cabinets to get snacks. (no we dont allow them now but it happens).

This is all we have so far. Lets see how it goes!

BTW: I wrote this blog tonight while WAITING on Lindsey to get dinner done.
